What makes a book great is how it's writer accomp- lishes a certain goal. And this book is great from all aspects: Two dimensional PC game heroes become multi-dimensional and the characterisations are in depth, not too much though to alter the character of the book (viz from sci-fi space adventure to psychological thriller). Then the scenes flow, not too fast (not in a movie type style) but have a certain tempo that makes the book flow without the so called "readers' stress". The authors' language is picturous and simple, avoiding too much litera- ture in shake of steady flow and positioning of the reader right were the scenes are drawn. The plot on the other hand is simple and straightfor- ward, not original, yet it holds the twists that make the reader wanna go on reading the next scene or chapter. Taking into consideration that this book is written in a custom way (meaning that the authors were surely given the plot hints and some of the back- and side story)...

Not the greatest, but it is still Wing Commander...
I've never played the first Wing Commander, so Freedom Flight gave me an insight into what the first installment of the game series was like. The space battles were not great, however, they were a little mediocre, but over all the book was pretty good, but nowhere near my favorite in the series.

Lotus's protest against the legality of Mercedes's rear wing has been rejected by the FIA, Formula 1's ruling body. Lotus believed the wing was in breach of rule 3. Lotus had lodged a protest on Thursday ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix as it believes the DRS system used by Mercedes goes against the regulations. On Thursday evening, however, the FIA said that stewards had agreed unanimously to reject the Lotus protest, meaning Mercedes will be able to continue using it over the grand prix weekend.
The Lotus team has filed a protest against Mercedes's rear wing ahead of this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix. Mercedes's design helps stall the front and rear wings for a straight-line speed boost, something rival teams believe it is illegal as it makes use of driver movement when he activates the DRS.
Red Bull is considering introducing its own version on the innovative Mercedes rear-wing system in an attempt to bridge the gap to its rivals. "I think there's been a lot said and a lot of fuss about it," Red Bull team principal Christian Horner was quoted saying by Reuters. Unlike its dominant self last year, the team is struggling this season having not only failed to win any of the first three races but has also been off the podium in the last two Grands Prix. One of the solutions to address its lack of performance is to reproduce components its rivals are using, particularly the double DRS system which was instrumental in Mercedes clinching a win at the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday. now we've got an awful lot of information through three days of running to settle on a direction moving forward," Horner said.
Lotus had in essence challenged the Mercedes on the basis that it was an aerodynamic device operated by the driver, even if the F-Duct effect was secondary to the permissible use of the DRS wing. The problem for rival teams wishing to copy Mercedes is that they will have to find a way to connect the airflow between the front and rear wings via a system of pipes and ducts, something that was built into the W03 when it was designed. The FIA pointed out that while Mercedes provided a document explaining how it worked, Lotus was not allowed to see it. The FIA in effect decreed that it was not operated by driver moment, but by the movement of the DRS, which is legal. The cool thing about this ruling is that it essentially opens the door to a whole new design path where it is permissible to redirect airflow to parts of the car and thereby increasing or decreasing the aerodynamic performance of these parts when... Because it has no moving parts and it is reliant on the movement of the DRS flap (but it is not part of the DRS system.
