I have found this to be the best of three different after-market TPMS that I've tried. This valve attachment location has proven more durable than the band technique. The simultanous four-time readout is more user-friendly than those readouts that require a button to be pushed repeatedly to change among multiple tires. This unit has proven appropriately sensitive to low tire pressures on multiple occasions. Economical. Highly recommended. Top to learn more
Excellent product, works exactly as described.
After having read reviews and researched Hella TC-400 and Orange Electronic P409s kits, I decided on the P409s because it is less expensive, less complicated to install, displays 4 tire pressure readings simultaneously and has one small display unit (vs a display unit AND receiver that the TC-400 requires). I installed the sensors myself onto brand new 18" BMW aluminum alloys and had my shop use a dial-type torque wrench to torque the valves (included in the kit) down to 4 newton meters (~35 inch pounds), exactly as the Orange Electronic P409s manual states. If you don't have a dial type torque wrench (not clicker), then you'll need one to install this kit. I then had them mount the tires on and as soon as they pressurized the tires, the sensors turned on. The kit includes absolutely everything you need: valve cores, valve stems, valve stem caps that say (sensor inside), and sensors. The only thing you need are wheels and tires. Finally, it takes... A must if you have full time all wheel drive...
...and highly recommended if you don't. Bought this device from another online vendor because Amazon had not yet started carrying it. This one gets only 4 1/2 stars because depending on where you place it, the display might not be readable in bright light conditions. However, the audible alarm will promptly alert you of anything headed south with your tire pressures.(UPDATE Dec 04, 2011: As of this date, I still own this Subaru and have put an ADDITIONAL 100,000 miles on it since the failure of the center differential that was suspected of being caused by one chronically low tire over the first 80,000+ miles under the most extreme of driving conditions with no hint of the second differential encountering a similar issue. While the potential consequences for damaging an expensive drive line component in an AWD system due to one low tire would appear to be arguable in theory as discussed by one knowledgeable commenter, the tolerances in today's AWD... You Need This To Properly Set The TV Cable On A 700R4
I bought this gauge because is was the best price for this model gauge on the 'net. It came with many adapter fittings, which made it easy to connect to my transmission to check for proper pressure to set the TV cable. I would recommend this gauge. It has a 0 - 300 psi dial. The most pressure I applied was about 175 psi and gauge did not leak. I wont use this gauge much, but it will be useful for transmission diagnostic oil pressure testing.

Great Moneysaver
The modern fuel injection systems are great! Untill something goes wrong. Then you find out that the problem can be caused by any of the many parts involved. In my case, bad start caused by: clogged or leaking injectors, faulty pressure regulator, clogged fuel line and/or filter, fuelpump pressure and more. I will not write down my experiences with the local stealership, suffice to say that if they touch a vehicle I own ever again I will call de cops! After eliminating electronic causes I replaced the fuelfilter (cheap, easy and about time anyway). When that didn't do the trick I checked out the carforums online for my model/year and found a host of possible causes for the problem. I also found that the single one thing needed for a proper diagnose of the fuel system was a fuel pressure tester. Found this one at a price below that of any of the fuel system parts. It absolutely worked for me. I was able to pinpoint the problem within minutes and after replacing... Top to learn more

Good Guage
This is a good guage for the home mechanic. Kit has adapters for just about any vehicle out, you can even splice into a rubber fuel line if the fuel rail adapter you need isn't in the kit. My particular vehicle is a Lexus RX300 which is basically a V6 toyota with Lexus decals, this kit came with the proper banjo bolt adapter and sealing washers for me to do the pressure test. The guage is encased in rubber so you can lay it face down on the windshield and check the pressures from inside the vehicle without it sliding down the windshield. The guage also has a pressure relief button which is nice to have when your done with your testing. Two things I would want you to do before using the guage for the first time. 1 remove the black test line atached to the guage and wrap the threads in teflon tape. It's worth 25 seconds of your time to prevent a leak. 2 At the other end of the same black line is a brass fitting, look inside it and you will see a rubber o-ring give it a shot of WD-40... This fuel pressure tester diagnoses drivability problems caused by poor fuel pressure. It features a relief button and 6-ft hose to safely dispose of gasoline without disconnecting the gauge. It also works on the throttle body injection with a threaded connection at fuel filter or throttle body. Top to learn more
not bad but be careful
The first one I bought started leaking raw gasoline from the gauge while I was testing the pressure on a running car! Very scary. My son was just coming out into the garage and I yelled to get back in the house while I ran to turn off the engine. Luckily, nothing happened but it could have been a disaster. It may have been a rare manufacturing defect but who knows how good the quality on these things really is? I ended up getting a replacement for free and that one has been just fine. No problems. However, the first experience still haunts me. So when you first use one of these things, have someone in the car ready to kill the engine and keep a very close eye on the tester for at elast the first 10 mins of use. Top to learn more

gives you all the information you want/need
This little box is very useful. In my case it already paid for itself. I was able to clear some service codes (misfire of a cylinder). In the past I paid $69 for the mechanic to just look up and clear the code. I really like the fact that ScanGauge displays all kinds of engine data in real time. Other devices such as the CarChip save it and then need to be connected to a computer in order to access the data. In my opinion, the ScanGauge is worth every cent. Top to learn more
The ScanGaugeII is a compact vehicle computer that connects to the diagnostic connector in seconds and gives you an extensive trip computer, real time gauges and trouble code reader. It can read fuel economy as you drive, tell you how fast your friend drove your car last night, tell you when you are going to run out of fuel and dozens of other functions. Installation takes only seconds and requires no tools. It can be moved from car to car. Works on gas, diesel, propane, and hybrid vehicles. The ScanGaugeII works on all OBDII protocols including the new CAN protocol. Top to learn more
The ScanGaugeII is a 3-in-1 automotive computer that combines a multifunction trip computer, diagnostic scan tool, and up to 37 digital gauges in one small package. It connects easily to your vehicle's On-Board Diagnostic (OBDII) port and communicates directly with the vehicle's computer. Not sure if your car uses OBDII or Controller Area Network (CAN)? The unit will automatically determine which system to use and switch to it. The ScanGaugeII works on all 1996 or newer OBDII cars, including gas, diesel, propane and hybrid vehicles, as well as vehicles with the latest CAN systems. A detachable cable allows for easy transfer between multiple vehicles. Its menu-driven operation means there's no need to memorize complex sequences, and no tools are required for installation.
Expandable Add-A-Gauge Technology The ScanGaugeII has been redesigned with expandable Add-A-Gauge (aka XGauge) technology. Add to the original 12 gauges by customizing the ScanGaugeII to monitor up to 25 more--depending on your specific vehicle's sensor design. Four gauges can be displayed simultaneously and can help determine fuel consumption rates, allowing you to adjust driving behavior and save gas. At the same time, keep an eye on coolant temperature, engine speed, and much more in real time. If there is a young driver in the house or friends borrow your car, the ScanGaugeII can record speeds of up to 158 mph and store the information for you to view later, so you will know just how fast your young driver or friend was going last night. If the unit was disconnected, you'll know: An indicator will be displayed in the trip data.
ScanGaugeII mounts easily to your dash.
Gauges include:
Horsepower
Fuel Consumption Rate to 1/100th per gallon/liter
Vehicle speed (MPH)
Fuel Economy
Cost Per Mile/Cost Per Trip
Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles)
Battery Voltage
Engine Load
Coolant Temperature
Throttle Position
Intake Air Temperature
Ignition Timing
Engine Speed (RPM)
O2 Sensor Data
Fuel Trim
Hybrid Battery Charge (for Toyota Prius and Ford Escape)
And many more, depending on your vehicle's sensor design

Scan Tool The ScanGaugeII includes a diagnostic scan tool that can check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), clear the codes, and turn off the "Check Engine" light on 99% of 1996 and newer vehicles. (However, this feature may not work on some trouble codes in Dodge vehicles.) If any DTCs are found, the ScanGauge will show how many there are as well as the codes themselves. Then you can use the Internet or repair manual to find out which is the failed part is, so you can repair it yourself or know what needs to be fixed at the mechanic's shop.
Multifunction Trip Computer Four sets of data are automatically recorded on the trip computer: Current, Today, Previous Day, and Tank Trip. The "current" trip restarts after the engine has been off for more than 3 minutes. The "today" trip restarts after the vehicle has not moved for 9 hours, and the data from "today" is moved to "previous day" when you restart the car, so you don't have to reset the computer every time you begin a trip. "Tank trip" resets when you fill up the tank. It can provide you with "to empty" data and other useful information, which can be viewed any time during the trip. The trip computer also integrates information from the Cost Per Mile gauge. Simply enter how much you paid per gallon or liter of fuel, and the ScanGauge will automatically calculate the cost of your trips as you drive. The ScanGaugeII features 12 individually stored parameters, including:

High Utility Factor, Intuitive Interface, but has bugs and issues
The installation of the SG2 is simple: attach the OBD2 connector to the DLC port and attach the RJ-45 jack to the SG2 unit. Routing the cable is really up to the operator. I chose to do it in a crude manner because I don't plan to make it a permanent addition to the car. I zip tied the cable to my HVAC vents and anchored it to the empty traction control hole behind the glove box. I used 1 of the provided velcro kits to affix the SG2 to the top of my steering column so that it is right below the instrument panel. It actually blocks my view of the shift indicator array, although I can still see it clearly if I lean forward. The update rate set at FAST is still rather slow and that is to be expected with the outdated OBD-II network. The "fastest" aftermarket scan tool that I have seen is SCT's Live Link for Ford / GM / Chryslers. If you want anything faster, you are going to have to borrow an OEM's scan tool system. The X-Gauge interface is a bit... Top to learn more

ScanGauge 2 Works As Advertised
I've had the scanGuage II for about 3 weeks at the time of this review. I had bought the unit because I was interested in finding out about how my car, a 2002 Toyota Solara was holding up and what the car computer might tell me. First the cons: 1. The cord is too long. The total run from the ODB II port to where the unit is mounted is about a 15 inches, top. It would have been nice to have sockets on both the plug and the SG II. Include a long and short cord, or just have it so that cat5e network cable could be used. Why? Because storing the excess cable somewhere is a problem, I ended up storing in inside the panel protecting the steering column, and may have created a short in one vehicle lighting circuits. 2. The velcro is too weak to hold the unit in place. I ended up using Radio Shack LockTite fasteners (the clear ones) instead... Top to learn more
