Works great!!
Works great. The dispensing feature is the key feature that sets this apart from other tools. It's makes it extremely easy to get the used oil into containers for recycling. No more funnels/towels for spills etc.Granted, instructions may not be completely detailed, but this is a TOOL not an appliance. One shouldn't expect a wrench to come with 10 pages of instructions.For those of you complaining about slow suction, here are some tips:1) Warm up the engine.2) Use the largest tube that fits down the dipstick3) Remove the oil fill cap!!! Modern crankcases are airtight. If you don't remove the oil fill cap, then the only way for air to get in to displace the oil you're sucking out is the tiny space between the dipstick and the tube. You're forming a vaccuum that is working against the tool.If you've imploded your tool, you've overpumped it, there was something else that was holding up your suction that you did not address...

Indispensible tool for service of German cars
I really enjoy the Mityvac 7201 Fluid Evacuator Plus. I can't say that it makes changing the oil much quicker than using the drain plug or even that much neater but it certainly does make it easier.If you have a car with the oil filter located where you can access it without getting under the car, I would recommend the evacuator without hesitation. If you have to get under the car or truck to change the filter you might as well just drain the oil with the plug.I bought the evacuator about a year ago specifically for use on my 2007 Mercedes E320 Diesel which has the drain plug in a very awkward location. Since then I've used it about a dozen times on both the diesel and my 2002 E46 BMW 330i. I have never had a problem with the performance and my only complaint is that it does not have enough capacity for the Mercedes. This car holds 9 quarts of oil and I have to stop halfway through the evacuation and empty the reservoir. Once the evacuator has been...

This is great
I'd seen this evacuator in some car care catalogs I get, but for around $75 instead of the $52 Amazon charges. I generally am fine with going under the car, but I have an S2000 now and it's too low to go on my ramps. So, I bought this after reading many reviews.In short, this works great. I got it in 2 days after ordering, and it was in perfect shape. I checked, and there were no cracks or crazing in the plastic where it was screwed together. The translucent plastic also appears to be very thick - I can't imagine the vacuum pump in this ever being strong enough to collapse it, as one review described. I work in an engine laboratory and deal with automotive tools daily - this is as high quality as most other tools you'd find in a professional garage.I found the instructions to be just fine. They're only one page, but this is a simple device. In short, there are three tubes that come with it. The largest is designed to connect to the evacuator, and the other end...

Excellent product, dont need to get under the car
This is an excellent product. It really works best with Mercedes and BMWs where they also have the oil filter on the top of the car so you dont even need to get under the car to remove the oil filter. Ive also used this on my Audi, which it works fine, but you still need to get under it to get the oil filter out.Also should point out, this wont work on some domestics because the way they snake their dipsticks into the oil pan. Clear example is the Dodge Ram 04. It comes with a tubing small enough to fit practically any car, but the dipstick on this truck snakes through to major curves so didnt work on that car.But I can say it will work for almost any import or german car.Dixit

Excellent low pressure pump
I needed a reliable low pressure pump for a vintage car. The new alcohol additive in gasoline is causing many vapor lock problems in older, carburated cars. I run a restoration shop and have used Carter products for a long time now. Having tried all the other brands, Carter is my pump of choice. This pump is exceptionally quiet, as well as having very stable pressure. Many pumps will vary pressure widely with temperature changes. This one doesn't seem to do that. If you need a 4lb pressure fuel pump, buy this one from Amazon. I couldn't beat the price from any of my other suppliers. Avoid the cheaper pumps, you won't be happy with them. This one will run well for a long time.

fuel pump for old motorhome
Replaced a mechanical pump on a 1979 dodge 440 motor home. Installed where the old pump connections are. 1/2 hour install and never started and ran so good. Did not use a pressure regulator. VERY HAPPY !

fuel pump for cub cadet
Had installed a new fuel pump last winter from kubota for their 3 cylinder gas engine on an old cub cadet tractor which cost more than $180. It lasted less than 2 months of lite use before quitting. I purchased this Carter P60504 pump, which has a 1 year warranty and it has been working superbly since, at a cost from Amazon of under $60. I am very pleased with it, and since it is made by Carter, it has a good chance of working for a very long time. I would highly recommend it for any old engine that was designed for 3 PSI fuel pressure.
