Tested, Mann It Is!!
On my Benz, its typical high-performance engine requires a high-pressure and freer-flowing lubrication system to meet the vehicle's engine-depended systems, such as A/C, electrical functions, suspension, etc.One time, I used a paper-based filter made by a popular brand filter co. in orange packaging box (and respective change of the full synthetic engine oil). Shortly after 4K miles, the metal oil filter cap that houses the filter began leaking oil out through the screw-grooves. I thought it was caused by the loose cap; I then tightened it. It was still leaking oil out. Occasionally, I cleaned the oil up until after 7500 miles were driven when I thought I needed a new oil cap and time for the oil and filter change.Then, I suddenly thought that my oem engine oil filter was not a paper-based medium but a "cloth-like" fleece material.
