Tested, Mann It Is!!
On my Benz, its typical high-performance engine requires a high-pressure and freer-flowing lubrication system to meet the vehicle's engine-depended systems, such as A/C, electrical functions, suspension, etc.One time, I used a paper-based filter made by a popular brand filter co. in orange packaging box (and respective change of the full synthetic engine oil). Shortly after 4K miles, the metal oil filter cap that houses the filter began leaking oil out through the screw-grooves. I thought it was caused by the loose cap; I then tightened it. It was still leaking oil out. Occasionally, I cleaned the oil up until after 7500 miles were driven when I thought I needed a new oil cap and time for the oil and filter change.Then, I suddenly thought that my oem engine oil filter was not a paper-based medium but a "cloth-like" fleece material. After research, fleece is a longer lasting, faster and freer flowing filter medium. What occurred in my Benz's engine was that the paper...

Same filter as what the $tealer sells for your first born child
I don't like to support $tealerships so I always look for safe alternatives when it comes to parts suppliers whenever possible.These Mann filters are identical to the Mercedes filters. No surprise there as Mann produces these for many European car manufacturers.This filter kit included all the necessary o-rings for my Benzo. OEM and Made in Germany. It's a wrap.

Great filter - Amazon's application list is wrong though.
Great high quality filter, what more is there to say. K&N always delivers top notch items.(although this one is imported from Germany - which is likely a Mann brand filter - still the best)Now the problem. Amazon says this part HP-7004 will not fit a Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 (also for NA engine)....wrong, this is the correct item and confirmed with K&N.

K&N OIL FILTER_MERC
I have a 1998 Mercedes E320 4Matic, recommended oil change interval is 10,000 miles, but system auto flags when it is required. Using the K&N filter and european standard amsoil my car went beyond 12,000 miles before the system flagged up that change was necessary, total mileage covered was approx 14,000 when I did the oil change and system still flagged 300 miles to go before it was required. Will continue to use this product in my Mercedes.

better than original equipment
First time I change the filter on my C300, bought new 9 months ago. Fits the C300 perfectly, actually it fits better than the original filter. There are better manufacturing details than the original which looks a bit flimpsy when compared to the K&N filter. I may try Mann next time because you could usually get Mann for a little less but it looks exactly like the K&N.

Great DIY resource for your C-class.
A serious repair manual (1244 pages) for anyone interested in DIY service on their 202 C-Class! The step-by-step maintenance chapter alone is worth the price of entry. Everything's covered from basic oil change to spark plugs, filters and fluid changes. With shop labor rates these days, it will pay for itself the first time you use it. There's also a great section on the electrical component locations and tons of wiring diagrams, if you're so inclined to dig in that deep. If you have any inclination to service your car yourself, this is a no brainer must-have.

This is an OEM (original equipment manufacture) oil filter for my 1999 Mercedes SLK. I have been using them for the past 3-4 years and the always look good when I pull them out each year - running Mobil 1 oil.

Good Quality, NOT exact OEM
I used one of these to replace an OEM filter and it was NOT the same thing. The OEM piece was more rigid and actually looked of a higher quality. That being said, I've been using Mann filters in my other car for years and they seem to do a fine job. They are a lot cheaper than going to the dealer and getting one there. I'd recommend them, just thought people should be aware that at least on my car, it was not an exact match of the OEM filter.

Affordable OEM Replacement
I've used this filter now for 2 oil changes on my 93 300E mercedes. Seems to hold up well and doesnt get crushed or fall apart. You will need a special oil filter cap removal tool found online for <$10 as compared to dealer > $50. This filter "snaps" onto the bottom of the filter cap.
