Airtex electric fuel pump is great for garden tractors
I installed this fuel pump on a john deere 318. I was having problems getting the tractor to start. Another tractor owner told me to try this and I have no more problems starting the tractor. I would reccommend this improvement. Pump is small and does not have much pressure (2 1/2) lbs.

Works well for the right application
I ordered this for my Corvair. Fits and works fine. The "filter" is not much of one, but then the carbs have their own filters anyway. Not too noisy when mounted on cushioned surface.

Airtex Fuel Pump
This is a low pressure fuel pump (2.5 - 4 psi) and replaces my mechanical pump on a 1991 Nissan Sunny/Sentra with a 1500cc carburetted engine. The pump did not require a return line to the fuel tank. Mounting it was the most difficult part as the Sunny has very little space near to the fuel tank. Electric pumps tend to be better pushers than pullers so the closer to the tank the better.

The big picture with fine detail.
This book is geared not to the performance enthusiast, but to the veteran trouble-shooter and D.I.Y. home mechanic. Wonderfully clear briefs and specific testing procedures. In-depth theory and operation. Does not pretend nor try to cover specific data of all cars. This is the big picture, and then disected component by component. I found using the book with the factory manual worked best.

Product Description

Finally! The authoritative manual on Bosch Fuel injection. This is the only book that fully explains all aspects of these Bosch systems: Motronic, L-Jetronic, LH-Jetronic, LH-Motronic, D-Jetronic, K-Jetronic, KE-Jetronic, and KE-Motronic. You will find specific information on the newest KE-Motronic and LH-Motronic systems that is not available from any other source.

Author Charles Probst has worked directly with OEM fuel injection engineers, trainers and technicians from Bosch, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, and other manufacturers to produce technician training materials. Now his complete service and maintenance procedures, with expert advice and troubleshooting tips, are available to you. A sampling of areas covered in the book are listed below:

Theory: How each system works

How to troubleshoot problems and service each system

What tools and equipment are needed

How engine idle speed is controlled and can be adjusted

How to adjust air-fuel mixture

Understanding air measurement and fuel metering

How engine management systems adjust timing for gasoline octane and turbo

boost

Racing and high performance modifications: what works and what doesn't Probst clarifies advantages and operating principles of each Bosch system and explains how they work to deliver maximum engine efficiency. He also gives you high-performance tuning secrets that really work to deliver maximum engine efficiency. He also gives you high-performance tuning secrets that really work for street and racing applications, and tells you why some tricks like "fooling" the computer don't. With over 350 detailed illustrations and photos, this 224 page book is a must-have reference for do-it-yourself mechanics, performance enthusiasts, and professional technicians who really want to understand Bosch systems. A well written and informative book.
This book covers both electronic and manual fuel injection. It gives a general explanation of how each type works with a more detailed description of each type later in the book. There are trouble-shooting guides and testing techniques are included. My only two criticisms of this book are: The trouble-shooting guides are not as comprehensive as they could be. The chapter on tuning basically tells you not to bother and includes very few useful tips. Unless you are interested in the performance tuning of your fuel injection system this is an excellent book and well worth owning.

A very good explanation of BOSCH fuel injection systems
A very good book that explains how all the bosch fuel injection systems work. It has some diagnosis charts that take you step by step on diagnosis and repair of the different parts of the injection systems. However, the author missed on how to internally tune the volumetric air meter, which is the most important piece of the system. The performance tuning part gives you some ideas on how to modify your car injection system. I used it to modify the system on my car, with some gain in performance. It has a lot of pictures and explains very well what it covers.

Mercedes Fuel Inject

Various types of Mercedes fuel injectors exist in the market, like the diesel Mercedes fuel injector for diesel cars. In fact, even non-Mercedes owners can use this wonder injector as the Mercedes fuel injector is made to fit not just Mercedes cars but non-Mercedes cars as well. Thus, even non-Mercedes owners can enjoy the power fuel flow the Mercedes fuel injector delivers. Installing aftermarket fuel injectors like the Mercedes fuel injector can be beneficial as these can infuse more power and give bigger shots of fuel. As with most fuel injectors, the Mercedes fuel injector require only constant supply of clean gasoline and fuel. Mediocre fuel flow need not be experience as anyone can rev up his or her engine’s performance with the fine fuel flow brought about by the Mercedes fuel injector. When all these are settled, fuel injectors like the Mercedes fuel injector ensure total engine power and performance as these are specifically engineered to maximize such. Like the usual fuel injectors, the Mercedes fuel injector can have a flow rate of around 250ccs to 260ccs per minute and offer increase in horsepower.

Mr Jones explained that DES works in regions like Europe and Japan where low-sulphur fuel is commonplace, but said the injection systems for larger engines, such as V8s developed primarily for the North American market, are unchanged because fuel... Mercedes argues that higher fuel consumption results in higher CO2 emissions, so if Australia’s goal of reducing the transport carbon footprint is to be realised, it follows that adopting low-sulphur fuel – as has taken place in regions such as... Mercedes-Benz Australia product manager Gordon Jones told GoAuto the company has to fit homogenous direct injection (DEH) systems instead of the more efficient stratified direct injection (DES) system to cars destined for high-sulphur markets like... He said that, although fuel economy suffers, power and torque outputs are unaffected by the alternative injection technology because the company’s DES systems switch to DEH mode under greater load or throttle openings. Benz slams local high-sulphur petrol Sulphur so good: Australia has adopted low-sulphur diesel to enable the import of the latest fuel-efficient vehicles, but petrol standards lag behind. DES keeps the combustible fuel/air mixture close to the spark plug, leaving the rest of the combustion chamber to be filled with pure intake air or recirculated exhaust gases, resulting in a leaner burn and reduced fuel consumption.

What do they do. Depending on the product, injection services clean naturally forming carbon deposits from the fuel injectors and fuel rails–some will even clean the fuel tank, and valve carbon deposits. How much fuel savings justifies the cost of the fuel injection service, and how long is the pay off. I have even seen fuel injection services quiet horrendous carbon knocks–a knocking noise from the engine due to excessive carbon build-up coming in contact with internal engine components. It depends: See the discussion under Are they worth it. Can a fuel injection service do any damage to my engine or car. Car Repair Prices: Fuel Injection Services, Are They Worth It. Article by Theodore Olson. Whether or not fuel injection services will do all the above “every time” for your car is another story. That’s because fuel injection services are not required the majority of the time. Fuel injection services are growing in popularity for the following reasons in the order of motive. Fuel injection services can do amazing things. With the wide variety of fuel qualities available, manufacturers are reconsidering fuel injector cleaning auto maintenance. If the service achieves any of the advertised claims, it may be worth it. In truth, most cars don’t need it. The consistent use of quality fuel, and proper vehicle maintenance should be all that is necessary to keep a car running properly.
