right tools for the job
I recently installed a cago net in my new Honda and used this tool set to remove the clips on the tunck liner. If you are considering to "do it yourself", these are the tools to use. I removed all the necessary clips to gain access without damage or breaking a single clip. If you want professional results, use the right tool for the job. Top to learn more

Almost perfect
These are very study plastic pieces that could only get better if they added a wide and narrow flat piece (like the blade of a trowel and flat-head screwdriver) other than that these tools come in very handy. I even accidentally stepped on one and it sprang back without breaking when I stepped off. Top to learn more
Scratch-free, unbreakable, but not as strong as metal
I used these on a few cars this past weekend. It's a nice variety of tools to pry at door panels, but I found them a bit weak.On one panel the tool bent to the maximum travel because the plastic rivet was quite tight. Although the tool didn't break, I had to reposition it several times before the rivet let go. I almost had to go get something metal instead.I am happy with the purchase, but I would definitely look for something with a metal core next time. Maybe I need both kinds to be prepared for any task that might come up.I've successfully used ice scrapers in the past, which are stronger but can break. Top to learn more

Amazing!
I own a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the bumpers and trim had faded to a shade of gray that was almost white. Although it took two bottles of the Forever Black and alot of time/effort to restore the plastic, by the time I had finished it looked new again. Actually, I'm not sure it was that black when I bought it 8 years ago. I waited 4 months before writing this review to see how long it would last before washing off and it hasn't yet. I haven't applied any other products during this period and it actually looks as shiny and black as it did the day I put it on. This product is like a miracle cure for tired, old cars.

A truly great product w/ a terrible applicator - here's a tip
Everything people say about how well this product works is true. It's nothing short of amazing. The person who gave it 1 star and mentioned the problems with the applicator is correct - that can happen. So, the best way I have found to use this product (I've done 3 trucks) is to pour the dye into a disposable plastic container and use a cheap disposable foam paint applicator. Works like a charm plus you can use the foam brush that best suits the area you are dying. Makes it easier, cleaner and faster than using the built in foam dabber especially for small trim, corners, tight areas, etc.I do something similar with tire dressing like Black Magic Tire wet. I pour it into a cup and use a paint brush to apply it.

WOW!!
This is an amazing product. I have a 2004 Volvo XC70 whose black bumper and other trim had faded to grey pretty badly. (I am sure many readers have seen Volvo's with trim that has faded really badly.) I used to treat the trim with Mother's Back to Black and it made the trim look great....until it rained, which caused the product to run and cause streaks in the trim...making it look even worse than before I even treated it.The important factors in using Forever Black are preparation and patience. Preparation: The product comes packaged with a cleanser and an applicator bottle. I took my time and cleansed my trim three times, very well, with the cleanser. Then carefully I dried it. Patience: Once I started to apply the dye, the trim absorbed it like a sponge. I was concerned at first because of the rate at which the product was being absorbed; I was afraid I did not have enough product to do the job. Well, I persevered and after about 6 full applications on all of...

Product Description
The permanent solution to sun-faded bumpers and trim moldings.
Forever Black restores a dark, black, finish on sun-faded bumpers and body moldings. This is not a cosmetic dressing. It's an easy-to-use permanent dye. It permanently colors black plastic, rubber and vinyl with the same polymers that the manufacturers use. It is not a silicone dressing - silicone products will make plastic, vinyl and rubber appear to have regained their color but the change is temporary. Plus, silicone oils have been known to dry out the applied areas creating a bigger problem. Silicone also tends to leave a greasy residue even after buffing. Top to learn more

Product Description
This product offers peace of mind for anyone who has ever worried about car maintenance and repairs. The easy-to-use device, which fits inside a purse or glove compartment, empowers drivers to monitor their vehicles health. The CarMD tool can be used to quick-check an unlimited number of vehicles. Within seconds, its color-coded (green, yellow, red) vehicle health monitor LED's tell you if your vehicle has any hidden problems, which is beneficial when inspecting a used car, preparing for a road trip or to find out if you will pass your emissions test. Plug the tool into your Mac or PC using the included USB cable and software plus your own internet connection, to generate a detailed report with most likely fix and estimated repair costs. By knowing which parts are needed and the labor costs, you can decide whether to tackle repairs yourself or better speak your mechanics language. Top to learn more
Owen Rubin's MyMac.com Review
The CarMD diagnostic tool is a "Do It Yourself" (and sadly, "As Seen on TV") device that connects to your vehicle's On Board Diagnostic Port (OBD2) and lets you understand what is going on under the hood. Unlike some devices that read and display data from the OBD2 connector real-time (like real time gauges), this device has one function, and one function only: To help you understand what, if anything, is wrong with your car using this device and your computer, and it supports Mac and PC alike. The device is fairly easy to use, but I suggest reading the small instruction booklet before you start. I didn't (who reads instructions these days?), and I ended up entering some bogus info into the CarMD database for my car, which I could not remove. To get started, one would think you should start by installing the software that comes with the unit. You would think, but this is not the case. Of course, not reading the instructions, as I said, I did what most people... Top to learn more

A lot of hype, but just another ODB2 scanner...
This device is nothing new, and is what mechanics know as an ODB2 diagnostic scanner. AutoZone/Checkers/O'Reily/Pep Boys/etc. often have these available to borrow for free to see what error code (check engine light) your vehicle is producing. There are varying models and makes of these scanners, and the more advanced ones can reset/remove the error codes from the car. This is a useful tool, and can save you money, but it is not the only tool you should have. Common sense should also be in everybody's toolbox as well. If your car is running rough, if you brakes squeal or become spongy (when you depress the pedal), or if you have a burned out bulb - all of these things will NOT register on this device, nor any other ODB2 scanner, but should be repaired. The scanner can also be very ambiguous about the problem, or completely misdiagnose the problem completely; but will generally point you in the direction of what needs to be repaired. The oxygen (O2) sensor is a good example of this,... Top to learn more

Works OK - There are other options
Works fine.. BUT.. The potentially best feature is the website and they have a number of limitations on how you can use it. I bought one and just read the codes and Google what they mean. I've found it useful, but I wouldn't buy this again. There are a number of other code readers out there and the big downside of CarMD (aside from the limitations on use of the web site) is that it cannot reset your codes. Shop around... you can do better. Top to learn more

Easy to use and works
I was hesitant to try this because I feared I would mess my headlights up. Well, I did it anyway, and I couldn't be happier. This product is SOOOO easy to use. All you need is a power drill (1200 - 1600 rpm) and about 2 hours of your time. It has a 4 step process and each kit is good for 2 headlights. I used this on a 2002 Jetta and got near perfect results. Before the sanding, the headlights were fully yellow and looked horrible. After the sanding, they look close to new. When you first start sanding, the headlights will be cloudy and rough. That's normal and as you go through the steps and start using the finer sand paper, the cloudiness goes away and next thing you know, you have a clear and clean headlight. The directions were easy to follow and even if you have no mechanical abilities or never used a drill before, you can still do this. Just attach the parts to the drill, and sand away. if your read the directions, and take your time, you can't mess up... Top to learn more

The Danger of Clouded Plastic Light Covers
Plastic is today's standard automotive construction material used for everything from headlight lenses to motorcycle windshields, plastic tail lights, trailers and more, yet it does have its drawbacks. Although it provides vehicles with lightweight, durable components, it can also yellow and haze with weather, sun and sand after less than ten years of exposure. This can result in both dangerously limited driver visibility on the road, as well as a downgraded appearance and value of the vehicle. While the impact on a vehicle's value varies, the dangers in terms of compromised visibility are clear.
According to recent statistics compiled by the Motor Vehicle Lighting Council, compromised visibility due to dimmed headlights, taillights and other plastic features is a factor in 2.8 million auto accidents, 23,000 fatal crashes and 2,300 pedestrian deaths each year. The AAIA Car Care Council found that 26 percent of the cars it inspected had issues with their lighting system. Millions of cars on the road today have plastic headlight lenses. The problem increases with the age of the lens, and with the average age of cars on the road about 10 years old, the problem is growing. Yet there is something you can do about it - get the 3M 39014 Lens Renewal Kit.
The Do-It-Yourself Solution
The 3M 39014 Lens Renewal Kit is designed to give do-it-yourselfers an easy and affordable way to repair their vehicle's plastic lens surfaces. Containing various graded sanding pads, pad holders, buffing pads, polish, detailed instructions and even 25' of 3M headlight masking tape, it includes everything users need to turn their household drill into a low cost solution to the dangerous automotive problem of dull headlights. The Lens Renewal Kit can also be used to repair hazing on other plastic surfaces, including taillights, emergency light bars, plastic motorcycle lights, trailers, snowmobiles and more. Compared to having headlight lenses commercially repaired for approximately $75-$150 or replaced for up to $1,500, the 3M 39014 Lens Renewal Kit costs a fraction of that price and the entire process takes under an hour, depending on the extent of the damage.
How Does it Work?
The steps for using the 3M 39014 Lens Renewal Kit are easy and can be performed by anyone, usually in less than an hour. First, clean the plastic surface to be worked on and tape around the body panels of your vehicle using the included 3M Premium Masking tape. Second, using your standard household hand drill (1200-1600 rpm) with attached 3M backing plate, sand away the hazed surface in a two-stage sanding process with the included P500 and P800 sanding pads. Third, refine and reduce remaining visible scratches using your drill/3M backing plate and the P3000 Trizact foam disc. Lastly, polish and buff lenses for clarity and shine using your drill/3M backing plate with orange foam compounding pad attached and a small amount of 3M headlight lens polish. That's it - simple, fast and inexpensive. In addition to a standard household drill mentioned (1200-1600 rpm), you will also need a spray bottle and water used in the wet sanding and buffing processes. Otherwise, everything that you need is included in the kit.

Wow, Like New!
I've been watching my the lenses on my 2002 PT Cruiser become more yellow and hazed over each year. Not only do they look terrible but at night, they don't shed as much light as they used to. The price to replace them is about $125. I purchased my 3M Lens Renewal Kit from Autozone and paid $25 + Tax. A local body shop said they'd do it for $71 for both lenses. I decided to take on the project and do it myself. The directions are good and easy to follow; there is even an online "how to" video.I am very impressed with the outcome! I only wish I could post some before and after pictures but this review only allows for video. Everything's included in the kit except a drill. The sandpaper grades are extremely fine. You will work your way to the extra fine and finally buffing and polishing compound. To do both headlights will take a couple hours and you will end up with a brighter outlook on night driving and a happier face on your ride. Top to learn more

worked good
The kit worked quite well, just make sure you take your time and tape off well around the headlight so you don't scratch your paint (I would suggest at least 2 layers of tape). Top to learn more
